When you use the contact form on this site, we collect your name, email address, travel dates (if given), and the content of your message. We process this to respond to your enquiry or manage your booking — our lawful basis is legitimate interests (running a booking enquiry service you've chosen to contact us through) and, where a booking follows, performance of a contract. We do not use this data for marketing, and do not sell it.
The contact form is submitted via Netlify Forms, our website hosting provider's form-handling service, which stores submissions on our behalf. If you book via the Book with Haven widget on a property page, your payment and booking details are collected and processed directly by Book with Haven — they are a separate data controller for that information, under their own privacy policy, not ours. We don't share your data with anyone else.
Netlify and Book with Haven may store or process data on servers outside the UK as part of how their services work. Where this happens, it's governed by their own policies and any safeguards they have in place — not something we do ourselves.
We keep enquiry and booking correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to manage your stay and meet our own record-keeping obligations, after which it is deleted.
Giving us your name and contact details isn't a legal requirement, but we can't respond to your enquiry or process a booking without them.
Under UK GDPR you can ask us: what personal data we hold about you (right of access); to correct it (rectification); to delete it (erasure); to restrict how we use it; or to object to our use of it. Where we rely on your consent for anything, you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@renshawsmith.co.uk. If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
The Book with Haven booking widget is a third-party service and may set its own cookies when loaded on a property page — please refer to their own policy for details. See our Cookie Policy for more.
