A booking is confirmed once payment (or the agreed deposit) has been received and you've had confirmation from us directly. Rates shown on each property page are per night and may vary by season — the rate confirmed at the time of booking is the one that applies. Minimum stay requirements vary by property; these are shown on each property's own page.
Bookings made through the Book with Haven widget on each property page are processed by Book with Haven on our behalf. Your payment and booking details are handled directly by Book with Haven under their own terms and privacy policy, not stored on this website.
Unless a specific property's page states otherwise, the following applies to all direct bookings:
Where a refund is due under our cancellation policy above, or where we are unable to provide a booked property for reasons within our control, we will refund the amount owed to your original payment method within 14 days.
We are not responsible for delays or issues beyond our control — including but not limited to your card issuer's processing times, adverse weather, or circumstances that prevent a guest from travelling. We'd encourage guests to consider their own travel insurance for this kind of situation.
Each property has its own house rules, covering things like check-in/check-out times, pets, and hot tub use where applicable — these are set out on that property's own page and form part of your booking agreement. Guests are responsible for the property and its contents during their stay and for any damage caused beyond fair wear and tear.
Bon Bon Bijou Limited (details in section 1 above) is the data controller for the personal data described below. This section sets out what the ICO calls your "right to be informed."
What we collect, and why. When you use the contact form on this site, we collect your name, email address, travel dates (if given), and the content of your message. We process this to respond to your enquiry or manage your booking — our lawful basis is legitimate interests (running a booking enquiry service you've chosen to contact us through) and, where a booking follows, performance of a contract. We do not use this data for marketing, and do not sell it.
Who we share it with. The contact form is submitted via Netlify Forms, our website hosting provider's form-handling service, which stores submissions on our behalf. If you book via the Book with Haven widget on a property page, your payment and booking details are collected and processed directly by Book with Haven — they are a separate data controller for that information, under their own privacy policy, not ours. We don't share your data with anyone else.
Storage outside the UK. Netlify and Book with Haven may store or process data on servers outside the UK as part of how their services work. Where this happens, it's governed by their own policies and any safeguards they have in place — not something we do ourselves.
How long we keep it. We keep enquiry and booking correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to manage your stay and meet our own record-keeping obligations, after which it is deleted.
If you don't provide it. Giving us your name and contact details isn't a legal requirement, but we can't respond to your enquiry or process a booking without them.
Your rights. Under UK GDPR you can ask us: what personal data we hold about you (right of access); to correct it (rectification); to delete it (erasure); to restrict how we use it; or to object to our use of it. Where we rely on your consent for anything, you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@renshawsmith.co.uk. If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies. The Book with Haven booking widget is a third-party service and may set its own cookies when loaded on a property page — please refer to their own policy for details.
We may update these terms from time to time, for example if our cancellation policy or booking process changes. The version shown here is the one that applies at the time of your booking.
